UNIQUE WINTER WEDDING IN DELHI, ONTARIO

We started planning our wedding 3 months before the date and people thought we were crazy but it was the best decision we could’ve made! We knew for sure that we wanted our day to be unique and something you don’t see everywhere. It turned out exactly like we envisioned and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful or special day!

Dressing in style was one of our big things and it came together very smoothly. I already had my dream wedding dress picked out from Dreamers and Lovers in California and they were beyond accommodating to get my dress in time! Because it was a November wedding, I knew I should plan an cooler temperatures, so I was lucky to find an amazing matching coat from Forever 21 and gorgeous leather boots from Josef Seibel. For the bridesmaids I knew I’d never find what we were looking for or get it in time from a bridal shop so we picked out some amazing fabric from Fabricland and showed a picture to Melissa of Alter Your Style who blew our minds. For my husband we found an incredible navy textured suit jacket and unique patterned tie from Tiptop Tailors that we paired with an ivory shirt from Strauss, pants from American Eagle ,pageboy hat and leather shoes from Steve Madden. The groomsmen outfits were very similar except for the fact we switched out the suit jacket for suspenders from Stars. Overall I couldn’t be happier with the final look!

I also had a specific vision in mind for my hair and makeup. To date, I still love my hair style and wouldn’t change it a bit thanks to Elisha of Bijoux Salon and SpaI wanted a natural and earthy feel to my makeup and Lisa from Blush and Glow exceeded that. Highly recommend the two of these incredible artists.

One of my favourite parts of reminiscing, is that, every part of our day was built by us or people close to us. My husband, built the backdrop and donut wall from the wood of an old barn on his parent’s farm. With the help of some of my favourite people we planted all the prickly cactus into clay pots that I searched tons of Dollaramas for. We got our beautiful navy thank you labels and gold leaf acrylic welcome sign designed and put together by my dad’s sign shop. Our midnight buffet food was lovingly made by my mother in law, our reception was set up with the help of family/friends and my sister spent hours helping me The Wandering Ivy create the garlands for the tables. It was a labour of love and a day I’ll never forget!

I want to shout out our wedding venue, Delhi German Hall for going above and beyond to make that part of our day so easy. The food was absolutely incredible, the service was amazing and the venue was perfect for our large 250 guest list.

Hope you enjoy the photos of our very special day that were captured by the amazing, Tisha Johnson Photography.
